Creativity often involves pushing boundaries, challenging norms, and introducing new ideas that might initially seem strange, awkward, or even uncomfortable — hence the term “cringe”.

The discomfort can stem from the unfamiliarity of the creative idea of the risk associated with it. People tend to be comfortable with what they know, and creative ideas often disrupt that comfort zone.

When the iPhone was first introduced in 2007, many critics were skeptical.
- It was expensive.
- It didn’t have a physical keyboard, and
- it was entering a market dominated by established players like Nokia and Blackberry.

However, the iPhone’s focus on a user-friendly interface and its integration of a phone, an iPod, and an internet communication device into one product revolutionized the smartphone industry.

Airbnb: The idea of renting out a room in your home to a stranger, or staying in a stranger’s home while traveling, was considered strange and even risky when Airbnb first launched. However, the company has since grown into a multi-billion dollar business and has changed the way people travel.
